Improving the long-term care of patients who have had bariatric surgery.
The PROMISE CARE study is a NIHR funded study that aims to understand the issues around delivering high quality long-term care following bariatric surgery from the perspectives of patients, healthcare professionals and commissioners.
The outcomes from the study will be used to identify an intervention or care pathway to develop and test in a future study, which if effective can be implemented within the NHS.
Part of the study involves interviews with healthcare professionals and commissioners working in bariatric services or primary care to explore their experiences and views on the long-term care of patients who have had bariatric surgery. The researchers are keen to hear from both primary and secondary care healthcare professionals and from the different professional groups who are involved in the care of these patients.
This would involve participating in a 1:1 interview with a member of the research team. This can be either by telephone or online platform, according to your preference and will be arranged at a time convenient to you (there may also be an opportunity for the interview to be in-person at the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society Annual Meeting). We would expect it to take no more than an hour of your time. Reimbursement for the time you spend in the interview will be available on request.
Participants may also be invited to attend some online stakeholder workshops and meetings later in the study (note: agreeing to be contacted about these later workshops/meetings is optional).
