ASO Awards 2023

ASO has launched the following three awards for ASO members attending UKCO23 this year in Belfast, Northern Ireland to apply to:

ASO Ken Clare Award - The Association for the Study of Obesity is offering this new award in recognition of the work of Ken Clare to encourage and recognise the patient and public involvement and engagement with obesity research. It will be awarded to a member of the ASO who, acting individually or representing a team, has undertaken and continues to undertake excellent patient and public involvement and/or engagement.

ASO Prevention and Treatment Award - The Association for the Study of Obesity is offering this award to encourage and recognise the best practice in obesity prevention and treatment in children, adolescents or adults. It will be awarded to a member of the ASO who, acting individually or as part of a team, has made a significant contribution to the prevention or treatment of people living with overweight or obesity.

Please note that members must have submitted an abstract to UKCO23 in order to apply for both the ASO Ken Clare Award and the ASO Prevention and Treatment Award.

ASO UKCO Travel Bursaries 2023 - The Association for the Study of Obesity is offering up to ten travel bursaries of £250 to help support ASO members who would otherwise be excluded from attending UK Congress on Obesity (UKCO) 2023. The value of the award is intended to contribute to the costs associated with travel and accommodation associated with attending UKCO 2023 in Belfast Northern Ireland.
