UKCO Member-Led Symposia Proposal Submission
Are you interested in contributing to development of the UK Congress on Obesity scientific programme?
Deadline for submissions: 31st March 2024
The UKCO 2024 Oxford Local Programme Organising Committee welcomes proposals for full symposia from ASO members.
Please liaise with colleagues and submit a symposium suggestion covering an area of current interest to obesity research, treatment and practice.
Please utilise this form to submit your proposal for a member-led symposia for consideration.
Each Symposia will be provided with a slot in the UKCO programme that will be 1.5 hours long, but the format and presentation plan within this time is up to you and should be suitable for your topic.
You should aim to cover a hot topic and select speakers who are considered knowledgeable in the field, this is likely to mean speakers come from more than one institution. Preference will be given for new and emerging research and results. Please submit your suggestion using the form below.
The deadline for receipt of symposia suggestions is 31st March 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.
We hope to notify the selected member-led symposia organisers by 19th April 2024 to allow the proposed speakers sufficient time to register for UKCO and submit their abstracts.
All speakers in selected symposia must submit an abstract by 31st May 2024. If the suggestion is not accepted as a full symposium, if you wish for an abstract will be considered for oral and poster presentation as part of the main sessions - you must submit an abstract by the relevant deadline.
Please note that these member-led suggested symposia are different to the invited part of the programme. All speakers and proposed chair in accepted symposia must register for the congress and arrange their own travel/accommodation.
Please identify that the abstract is related to a symposium proposal (also mention the name of the proposed symposium) by checking relevant box in the abstracts submission system. You will also be able to indicate whether the abstract can/cannot be considered and/or presented in case the symposium proposal would not be accepted.
