Introducing World Obesity Day 2022

World Obesity Day will return on 4 March 2022! This year's theme is "Everybody Needs to Act"

There are currently hundreds of millions of people living with obesity worldwide, facing multiple barriers including stigma, a higher risk of poor mental health, and inequitable access to healthcare. We know that the roots of obesity are complex and go far beyond the current 'eat less move more' narrative.

To make change a reality, we need action at the local, national, and global level. And we need everyone - including healthcare professionals, employers, policymakers, people living with obesity, and the general public - to be part of that action. We can't reach those people without you.

On 4 March, please help us share the simple message that "Everybody Needs to Act" to address obesity. Together, we can give everybody the best chance to live happier, healthier, and longer lives.

Share your success stories

It's not enough to tell people they need to act - we need to inspire them and show them how!

Let us know about your most successful projects of 2021, and we will celebrate them on a new stories page on the World Obesity Day website.

Tell us your plans for World Obesity Day

We want to tell the world about your World Obesity Day events.

Please tell us what you have planned on or near 4 March - however big or small - so we can support you and promote your work.

And if you're stuck for ideas, tell us that too! We can advise on quick and easy ways to take part.
