Webinar 1: Addressing industry interference in policy making

To mark the occasion of World Obesity Day, UNICEF is partnering with the Global Health Advocacy Incubator to launch a new series of capacity-building webinars. The webinars will allow UNICEF staff and trusted partners to dive deeper into some of the cross-cutting issues, challenges and opportunities for countries looking to introduce food environment regulations.
The launch webinar on 3rd March will introduce the concept of food environment regulations, spotlight UNICEF’s priority policy asks, and highlight the challenge of industry interference. The remaining three webinars will further explore how UNICEF can better support governments through:
- A solid understanding of the main principles and evidence underlying each priority policy;
- Smart navigation of legal issues in policy design and implementation; and
- Engaging and impactful communication and advocacy campaigns.
At the first webinar on 3rd March, we will welcome speakers from the World Health Organization, civil society advocates and UNICEF country offices.
