Post-doctoral fellowship in obesity research and treatment

PIs on our grant are Michael Lowe at Drexel, Susan Roberts at Tufts and Matt Hayes at Penn; a second collaborating team is at Columbia University.   The project will implement a behavioral weight loss treatment and follow participants over a 12-month follow-up period to study metabolic and appetitive predictors of weight regain following weight loss.

 

Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or nutrition and, preferably, have training in and publications on obesity and/or weight control.  The exact responsibilities of the position are being finalized but are likely to include screening of participants, scheduling and monitoring of multiple participant assessments, helping implement the treatment and supervising other treatment providers, preparation of data for submission to NIH and the Data Coordinating Center, and participation in regular meetings of the UG3/UH3 consortium.  A background in biobehavioral or nutritional models of obesity and/or obesity treatment is desirable.  Opportunities for developing an independent research program and supervised clinical experience toward licensure will be available.  Starting date is flexible but must be between January and September, 2022.
