The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the imperative to address global challenges such as obesity. The evolving evidence provides a new urgency for political and collective action. Together, EASO, Obesity Canada and World Obesity are conducting a survey to see, one year into the pandemic, what the global picture looks like.
The researchers would like to collect further information and build a global picture of what has changed at a national level, both in terms of the effects that Covid-19 has had on obesity services and people living with obesity, as well as how governments have responded to the evidence that obesity increases the likelihood of more severe Covid-19 outcomes. Researchers would also like to identify lessons learned to better support national recovery from Covid-19 as well as to prepare for future health challenges.
