UKCO Hot Topics 2021
When: Wednesday, 8th September 2021 - Thursday, 9th September 2021
Where: Virtual
Due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our UK Congress on Obesity scheduled to be held in Belfast this September. We are very grateful for the support and understanding of the Local Organising Committee in Belfast and of our members.
'UKCO: Hot Topics' will be held virtually on 8-9th September 2021 in replacement of this year's annual conference and will be free to attend for all ASO members. Join today to attend.
The virtual event will involve two focused sessions to explore and debate hot topics of 'Implications of defining obesity as a disease' and 'Obesity and COVID: implications for the future in obesity treatment and prevention'. Both of these will include keynote presentations and interactive sessions aimed at producing relevant academic outputs. Events will be freely available to our members. Non-members will be eligible to register if they opt to become a member (student rates are available). All delegates will have opportunities to contribute to the outputs and events will be eligible for CPD.
We are also hosting an Early Career Research event as a satellite meeting and we will be launching an award scheme for early career researchers for this event too, with winning abstracts invited to present at both Hot Topic sessions.
