UKCO 2025 Awards
Apply for an ASO Award When Submitting Your Abstract
ASO members have the opportunity to apply for one of two prestigious ASO awards when submitting an abstract for UKCO 2025:
- ASO Best Practice Award – Recognising excellence in obesity management and treatment in children, adolescents, or adults. This award celebrates individuals or teams who have made a significant impact on obesity care within the last two years.
- ASO Ken Clare (Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement) Award – Honouring outstanding efforts in patient and public involvement in obesity research, in recognition of Ken Clare’s work in this field.
Eligibility Criteria:
✔️ Must be an ASO member
✔️ Must have submitted an abstract directly related to the award application
✔️ Must not have received an ASO award as an individual or team in the last 3 years
✔️ If applying on behalf of a team, all team members must be clearly identified
Award Prizes & Benefits:
£250 prize
Compensation for reasonable travel expenses (subject to the UKCO travel and expense policy)
Access to the lowest registration rate for UKCO 2025

Membership
Membership is open to obesity researchers, healthcare professionals, clinicians, academics, scientists, and students who are working and/or studying in the field of obesity and to others who have a particular interest in this area.
Student membership with ASO is only £30 annually and there are so many benefits. There has never been a better time to join!
ASO Networks
In addition to UKCO, we have ASO network meetings across the UK in order to meet the ASO mission and objectives.
Meetings are hare organised locally with support from the ASO Networks Lead.
