The Midlands ASO Network and the East Midlands Bariatric & Metabolic Institute (EMBMI) aim to promote interaction and opportunities for shared learning among all those with an interest in preventing obesity and its health and social consequences. Our vision is to bring together those working in the health, local authority and academic sectors across the region to share and discuss obesity research and practice.
The Midlands Network plan to hold meetings on at least an annual basis. Attendance at these meeting is open to anyone with an interest in obesity, and may be of particular interest to those working in health services, local authority, public health, commissioners of obesity services, and academics.

16 May 2023 – ASO Midlands Obesity Symposium – 2023 – EMBMI / ASO Midland Network meeting

The symposium has a number of nationally renowned speakers whose talks will cover the latest research into obesity, obesity management, referral pathways and the risk/benefits of treatment. The symposium is a great networking event for all health professionals with an interest in Obesity that work in the Midlands.

Membership
Membership is open to obesity researchers, healthcare professionals, clinicians, academics, scientists, and students who are working and/or studying in the field of obesity and to others who have a particular interest in this area.
Student membership with ASO is only £30 annually and there are so many benefits. There has never been a better time to join!
ASO Networks
In addition to UKCO, we have ASO network meetings across the UK in order to meet the ASO mission and objectives.
Meetings are hare organised locally with support from the ASO Networks Lead.
