Early Career Network
The early career network (ECN) is an inclusive and supportive environment for all of our early career members to network, support and learn. Our main goal is to organise and facilitate a variety of talks and workshops (e.g., career panels, skills development, networking) aimed at supporting the progression of members who consider themselves as early career.
Are you an ASO Early Career Member?
We define early career as members who have not yet held any substantial grant income as a Principal Investigator and / or should not have already established their own research group. There are no eligibility rules based on years of post-doctoral experience. Our definition of early career includes postgraduate students, doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers, lectureships, teaching and clinical fellows, clinicians, and researchers transitioning to independence.
Dedicated annual ECN event
As part of our work, we organise and facilitate the one day early career network event held ahead of the UK Congress on Obesity each year together with local organising committees at host institutions.
