Dr Julie Sittlington

Julie is a Research Associate and Core Technologies Officer at Ulster University.
She is affiliated with the Nutrition Innovation Centre for Food & Health (NICHE) where she is a member of their Obesity, Energy Balance and Food Choice research group. Julie also has an active interest in Sports & Exercise Nutrition and supervises a range of MSc Sports Nutrition research projects.
As Core Technologies Officer, she manages the Human Intervention Studies Unit (HISU), a bespoke facility dedicated to carrying out intervention trials in human volunteers. The unit offers a range of clinic rooms, laboratories and a residential suite, along with state-of-the-art equipment. As part of this role, she undertakes and leads on nutrition/health related academic and industry-led research trials.
Julie has been a member of ASO since 2024 and COMs Operational Secretary since February 2025.
