Dr Lily Hawkins

UKCO Support Officer

Lily is a Chartered Psychologist with a PhD in eating behaviour and a background in health psychology. She currently works at the University of Exeter (in conjunction with University of Plymouth) as a postdoctoral researcher on the PROGROUP trial, which aims to test the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a group-based intervention for individuals living with severe obesity.

Lily is interested in the role of psychology within obesity, patient experiences and applying psychological and behaviour change models to inform and evaluate health interventions, particularly around weight management. She is also interested in training and helping healthcare professionals to deliver such interventions.

Lily is currently a member of the UKCO Committee as Support Officer, the British Psychological Society Obesity Special Interest Group and the European Association for the Study of Obesity. Lily is keen to promote the role of holistic care, including psychological treatments, for people living with obesity.
