Dr Julia Mueller

Julia Mueller is a Senior Research Associate at the MRC Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge. She works within a programme on “Prevention of Diabetes and Related Metabolic Disorders in High Risk Groups”. Julia holds a BSc in Psychology, MSc in Health Psychology and PhD in Health Psychology. Julia’s current research interests focus on behavioural weight management, understanding the psychosocial determinants of obesity and weight management, and using digital means to develop behavioural interventions. She has expertise in developing evidence-based, theory-based, digital behavioural interventions, evaluating interventions using randomised trials and mixed-methods process evaluations, and advanced quantitative methods. She is currently a co-investigator on the NIHR PGfAR-funded “Supporting Weight Management (SWiM)” trial, leading the quantitative work packages. She also teaches on the MPhil in Population Health Sciences at the University of Cambridge.

She is a member of the Operations Management Team for the Association for the Study of Obesity (ASO) and co-leads the ASO East of England network.
