Ellen is a Research Associate and a Lecturer in Physical Education Initial Teacher Training at the University of Sunderland.
Her research role in the Helen McArdle Nursing and Care Institute focuses on overcoming health inequalities for marginalised groups in our society. She has collaborated with the NHS, local authorities, charities and other academic institutions, presenting her work at regional, national and international conferences. Ellen has investigated Weight Friendly Workplaces with Sunderland City Council and is currently conducting research into weight stigma and childhood obesity.
