Last week, the Association for the Study of Obesity (ASO) met with parliamentarians to discuss obesity prevention, treatment, and the importance of health policies that prioritise well-being.
We would like to thank the Obesity Health Alliance for organising an excellent event in the House of Commons, and to the parliamentarians who took the time to listen, engage, and contribute to this important conversation.
The discussion highlighted the need for a whole-systems, evidence-informed approach that addresses the structural drivers of obesity and ensures equitable access to treatment and support.
Special thanks also to our brilliant ASO team on the day – Dr. Kath Roberts, Dr Anjali Zalin; and Nadya Isack, for their expertise and commitment to advancing obesity prevention and care across the UK.
