Applied Exercise Psychologist
Dr Paula Watson is a HCPC-Registered Practitioner Psychologist specialising in physical activity, weight management, and health behaviour change. She has over 18 years’ experience of developing and evaluating health behaviour change interventions, with notable projects including the GOALS family-based weight management intervention from 2005-2013, and more recently development of the HealthyWEY e-learning toolkit to help multi-agency professionals have weight-related conversations with parents in the pre-school years. Paula has published 39 peer-reviewed publications and previously worked as a Reader in Exercise and Health Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University, before leaving academia in August 2022 to pursue her passion full-time as an independent exercise psychologist (Made Up To Move). Her current work involves 1 to 1 psychological therapy to support individuals to develop a healthy relationship with physical activity, food and weight.
