ASO Scotland Network Natter November 2023

When: Monday, 6th November 2023, 1:00pm - 2:00pm

For November we would like to welcome Charlotte Hardman. Charlotte Hardman is Professor of Psychology of Eating Behaviour in the Department of Psychology, Institute of Population Health, at the University of Liverpool. She leads a programme of research on appetite and obesity, and the psychological determinants of healthy and sustainable food choices. Her recent work has focused on the role of low-calorie sweeteners in helping to control appetite, food cravings, and body weight. This includes the Horizon 2020 SWEET project which is an inter-disciplinary collaboration bringing together 28 European partners to investigate the consequences of using novel sweeteners as sugar replacement in a range of food and beverage products.

Professor Hardman’s talk is entitled ‘The role of low-calorie sweeteners in appetite and weight control: friend or foe?’

Professor Hardman will provide an overview of recent findings and discuss the implications for the role of sweeteners in the context of weight management.

This event will be in the format of a short presentation followed by a Q&A/discussion amongst attendees.

The ASO Scotland Network Natter is an online networking event to provide anyone working in the field of obesity prevention and treatment an opportunity to come together for a chat, to share ideas and support.

We would like to embrace the new way of networking with this online Zoom event.
